A reward of the lightweight tournament winner is...

I don't know Hansen's fight money but a reward which he received by winning the tournament was just JPY10000000, which is 94k in USD ($1=JPY107)

Sasahara:
I'm not thinking about holding an event in the U.S. so far. I'm focusing on getting more MMA fans in Japan now. Our next event is on Sep and will try to announce details sometimes soon. I'm planning to hold another event on Oct or Nov. I will arrange a fight for Hansen this year.

We haven't decided yet but I want to offer Fedor a fight in Japan on NYE again.

The DREAM LW tournament really helped seperate the elite (Hansen, Aoki, Alvarez) from the contenders (Uno, Kawajiri, JZ, Ishida, Andre Dida) of MMA. If only Gomi had participated! A lot of interesting matches are set up for further events (which was the whole purpose of having the tourney in the first place): Hansen v Alvarez II, Alvarez v Aoki, Hansen v Aoki III, Uno v Kawajiri, etc.

DREAM may arrange a fight of Akiyama vs Crocop in Sep. DREAM wants Akiyama fight in a heavier weight class and Akiyama seems like being interested in.

JZ and Kawajiri, Contenders? LOL!!! I think they whoop on Joachim Hansen to be honest. Eddie Alvarez was just that good to beat Kawajiri and JZ lost to a game Aoki. I think Hansen just got lucky to fight a tired out Aoki. I mean, Hansen shouldn't have even got to the finals if Kawajiri did not mess up Alvarez's eye.

Akiyama vs. Crocop? That's going to be pretty much like JLB vs. Akiyama, no? Why do they want to kill Akiyama? Do they really hate him that much? I though Alistair was going to fight Crocop.

Hansen already beat JZ in SHOOTO and that fight was close. So, Hansen does have a chance to repeat. Also, there was nothing lucky about Hansen winning the GP

So, you do not call Alvarez not being able to fight for the finals lucky for Joachim Hansen? You do not call Aoki fighting for 15 minutes and then fighting him, who fought for at most 3 minutes lucky for Joachim? Have you forgotten Hansen got submitted by Aoki before? The win itself was not lucky. I give credit to Hansen, but the situation itself was indeed lucky for Joachim.

hansen had said he went through some rough times after pride finished and he had no where to fight and went back to kick boxing or something else to pay the bills. this 94k pay cheque must have made it worth the wait. i'm happy for him.
