Semmy Schilt is interested in fighting Fedor on NYE

Sadaharu Tanikawa and Semy Schilt had an interview on Dec 09.  In the interview, Schilt showed his interest fighting Fedor.  Schilt won K-1 World GP 2007 on Dec 08.  Mr. Tanikawa said he would like to see him fighting in MMA rule.

Fedor fought Schilt in his PRIDE debut fight.  Fedor defeted Schilt by decision.  Schilt said he would like to fight Fedor but he needs time to train his ground techniques.  I have a confidence to win and I would like to fight him while I`m a K-1 champion.

Semmy is a two time Daido Juko Champion ( " Mma karate" ) and he fought mma before, so it wouldn't be that ridiculous

Semmy lost to Fedor once already (back in Fedor's PRIDE FC debut). At the time, he was a top ten mma fighter. He started concentrating on kickboxing soon after, and it showed when he lost to Sergei Kharitonov. While Semmy's standup has improved since his fight with Fedor, his groundskills are surely worse and he will probably fight a much improved Fedor (although we do need to take ring-rust into account).

That fight wasn't even that interesting the first time. Fedor just kept taking Semmy to the ground and his gnp wasn't fully developed (after RINGS's no punches on the ground rules). The two fighters have gone in opposite directions skillwise.

I thought their 1st fight was great. Would rather see these two than Fedor x HMC.

Semmy should stick to K1.....MMA just doesn't suit him. His lengthy frame is a ground specialist dream. if it does happen expect fedor to dispatch Semmy faster and more violently then the first time.
